How much I miss the Disney College Program!

As you all know it's been about 278 days since I have returned home from the Disney College Program and I must say I miss it daily. I miss the parks, the people, the weather, the malls, walmart AND I even miss my Job anddd THE BUS?..... Anyway, Just wanted to let you people who still read the blog that if you have a chance to extend you might as well do it. 5 months is nothing, the longest part of Disney was the waiting process to get accepted. Or, do the advantage program for a longer stay but it might not be of your best interest since you might not be able to switch to another job position. As for those of you still awaiting your responses or need further tips that you would like me to post about. Please feel free to post and visit! I have been busy with work and internship back here at home. So currently I have been fully booked in life with full time school, work and internship HOWEVER, I still like to browse when I view comments.

Thank you again for viewing!

Disney College Program Extension

If you read my previous post you'll know that I applied for extensions but was rejected. Here's how it works. If you're going to apply for extensions I suggest you try your very best to keep a clean record.. that means NO lateness, no absences, call ins, no points! reprimands! zip! Unfortunetly for myself, I had to lose a key which is a major issue for most working areas that requires you to have a keys, for Old Key West, lose a key and you'll receive a 2 point reprimand, so dont lose it like me............ dont ask me how I lost it, I'm still trying to figure that out myself, it still hasn't been found! It's different for every area, I was told that I am lucky I didnt get sent home for loosing a key sooo yea it depends.

My managers tried everything from calling the managers of recruitment and they were told that spots have already been filled, not even awaiting line, they are finished and ready to let me go T.T xD Soooooooooo even if you do a great job and your managers love you, YOU STILL GO HOME!!!
Anyway, I also learned from going to a networking event with disney leaders, that one of the managers who is in charge of recruiting, specifically told me that, IF YOU HAVE NOTHING ON YOUR CARD YOU GET FIRST PRIORITY depending on the positions you have applied and they will most likely allow you to change positions and extend.. However, if you have some things on you record card depending on how serious it is.. I repeat No reprimands If you do.. they wont even look at your extension application! forget about even trying to change your position you might have better luck staying in the position you are in now. If you have points on your record card and you really want to extend I suggest in one of those slots where you're suppose to fill in your choices you want to extend for, leave room for your current position, and you'll probably have no trouble achieving that.

You can be part of the CP for 1 whole calender year so if you're part of the advantage program, you can still apply for another position for 4-5 months. First you'll be receiving a email from Disney about extensions around 3 months into your college program ONLY if you're part of the 4-5 month program. If you're in the  advantage program you'll be receiving that a little later..Place all the required information to log as you apply, apply for your options of positions, submit and wait. You'll receive your response the same way you logged in to apply and that will come around 3-4 weeks.
That's it for now, tired as usual
Have a magicallllll day~~~~~~

Life goes skidding sideways.

I madeee ;)

I remember the time I was forced to write a paper about how my life went skidding sideways to relate to a book we were also forced to read in class. Anyone ever read "A funny thing happened on the way to the future" Well I did, it wasn't tooo BAD, compared to other books we've been forced in life to read, however every book has its memorable parts that wont be forgotten or could be related with through life. I know that many words spoken in that book really made me think "Yes.. you're right" they have great quotes in this book I must say, great for college, high schoolers or just people reading for the hell of it and HEYY it's by Michael J. Fox soo, I thought about how long it would take me to think up a situation in life that went skidding sideways, I'm sure we all have our life stories of situations, but what makes you think the teacher wants to read about anything that's personal and what makes you want to tell the professor. I just took something out of life and made it into skidding sideways to entertain my teacher, not like I have never skidded sideways in life before, but it's hard to think back on something appropriate for the class.
So, these days I've been thinking and relating exactly to this "skidding sideways" quote that was used quite often within that book, and I thought how life right now was the PERFECT example to write for this for this skidding sideway essay.
Dont GET ME wrong, not saying that Disney Life is not cool or anything, just been having my moments where nothing is looking good or turning out right.
If I would have the chance to rewrite that paper, it would be exactly on how life is going on these few days. Despite the fact that I only have a month left of Disney and they wont let me extend because of my 2 point reprimand I got for loosing a key. I almost that was the end for all the bad things happening. and as for for many of you, that might be wondering.. why is she extending!! The truth is, I felt like I haven't taken advantage of my Disney opportunities enough around here. I didnt really have the time or the energy to play in the parks or use my disney discounts, not to mention not even going to seaworld or universal yet.. ( I will soon)
Now I will explain how life went skidding sideways. Here's what happened the following days, a few days ago, as I was ready to go home, my outerwear that I always leave in the same spot was stolen in the girls locker room. It upsets me because that's the spot I usually leave it. I've been leaving it in there for months and someone FINALLY DECIDES to Steal it......so, I thought to myself, no more extension and now you steal my JACKET!! Soon after that I ended up loosing one and only phone. THINGS ARE SKIDDING SIDEWAYS I TELL YOU!! Now I could not blame anyone but myself, sleeping on the bus and not paying attention when you get off the bus is a no no.. I REPEAT, do not make the same mistakes as myself.
Shameful, I know.. my co workers said I would loose myself next lol.. Now, with just 1 month left of Florida I am phone less atm, and awaiting for my mom to send me a new one. So, i sit on the bus and daydream all day awaiting for a miracle to happen, maybe the CP who took it finally came to their senses to return it... MAYBE......................! One could only hope :(
But yes, I ask myself now, what could one do now without a cellphone, no one cant contact me to hang out.. with just a month left I am stuck at home trying to use Facebook as a way of communication. HELP.......

Now I leave you with a question, How to change life from skidding sideways and how do i overcome from loosing myself.
Have a magical DAY!!!
Yours truly.~~~~~~

I know I haven't been updating alot, Its' been alot going on, and days are going by so quickly.. if i had more time, i would update more!!
Thanks again for viewing~

Disney College Program "Grocery Price is right"

I won I won I won I wonnnnnnnnnnn AGAIN!!!
This time it's not Grocery Bingo. Actually it's has nothing to do with getting the "grocery" price right so DO not visit the Grocery Store to cheat on prices like yours truly..................You will win the same things as Grocery bingo so do not fear if you're not good at this game, there's always luck with grocery bingo next time.

The point of this game is to guessing the price of the whole trip or grocery, so they will start with a few pictures of trips, event,s disney related themes, and sometimes grocery so be careful with this.. it's quite tricky. You will receive a raffle ticket upon entering the room for your seats, If you're very unlucky like me, myself and I your number will be called at the very end when half of the room is gone. BUT HEY at least I got free grocery, patience is the KEY!!
You'll be sitting for a good few hours so hang tight. Here's how you play.. when a raffle number is drawn, you will be going up to the front of the room, where you will compete with 3 other people whose raffle number was also called. This is where it becomes intense, once the picture on the screen is shown you must guess the price of the total. But make sure, you do not go over the price range anything under or close will continue forth to the showdown between you and another person competing against grocery and the same thing happens again, you will be guessing the price of the pictures shown on the screen. Ranging from grocery shopping items, hotel stays, park prices, cruises, etc. KNOW YOUR DISNEY STUFF i'd say. Sometimes I cant figure out how they get the final price but yea.. I hope you're lucky at guessing like me and the audience can help you along with friends.
Here's an example of what they might ask:
You are 3 friends who booked for vip seating for the epcot fireworks, how much is the total?(stuff like that)
I think that's about it.. Enjoy and hope you can win tooo.

Disney College Program Building Inspection.

COOKIES!!!
Your inspection paper results...

It's TRUE!!! You cant just keep your room as dirty and as messy as you want. No.. not Really, You can but Just keep your eyes OPENED for your inspection days that will be posted near the entrance by the security or near bus stops.

Throughout your Disney College Program, your building will be inspected a few times. It seems I get an inspection every 37 days, my first one being February 22 and the upcoming one on April 1st. Since my inspection date is coming soon I thought I would share some detail with you on how to pass. If you do not pass Inspection.. you will be charged extra on your next paycheck, I believe 25 dollars extra taken out of your paycheck so that they can hire people to CLEAN YOUR APARTMENT FOR YOU.

sooooooo,.. I did not get "White glove" and the box of chocolate that comes with it, white glove is only given to rooms that are crystal clean! however I was reward with cookies, not just one but 2 bags of cookies that I was quite pleased with. My errors? well...I forgot to clean the inside of my microwave. I will surely am for it this time. It's much easier to keep a tidy room with just 2 people, imagine having to force all your roommates to clean up for inspection.. there will be alot of drama!!
Let's all try to get the white glove.. or passing with cookies is Okay tooo.
Here's how I do it... before every inspection date, I would arrange a day for me and my roommate to get together to visit the clubhouse, where we can borrow vacuum, mop, broom and other cleaning equipment that you might need. After tidying up the room, we would just vacuum and wash down, usually the day before inspection, HOWEVER, keep in mind that the clubhouse for chatham, patterson and the commons usually close at 5:00pm so if you're working that day and you dont get off till late, I suggest you do your cleaning a day where you can actually borrow the equipment ( I hate how early the clubhouse closes!) Somedays they will be opened later than usual, so just find out the time and set up your schedule to prepare for cleaning.

Make sure to clean your kitchen: the sink, the stove, fridge, microwave, and keep everything looking neat.. i mean EVEN Your fridge, dont think you can get away with just stuffing everything into your cabinets lol
Make sure to make your bed, just fold it nicely, keep it looking neat and clean.
Make sure you clean your bathroom, the floors should be washed, no hair, bathtubs cleaned and toliets... must be in the same condition as when you first arrived.
and lastly, do not forget to vacuum and dust.

After inspection takes place, they will leave you a piece of paper, saying what they have checked and what was wrong.

GOOD LUCK with white glove!
and Have a magical day.

My new View on Vista Way

Duffy and I ( randomness)

Sooooooooo.. it's been a while, Been busy with ALOT OF Class assignments, group work.. online assignments for my advisor back at college and working OF course. I finally found some time to put this wonderful writing together about how things can Change. Well.. Remember my post regarding
Vista vs Chatham vs Patterson!
I noticed that I could not just make judgement without looking deeper into it. I absolutely Love the activeness of Vista Way. It's really not like what people say it is, It's not dangerous or wild, well it may be wild but in a good way and I haven't seen nothing but friendly people around there. I must say.. one thing though... WHY IS VISTA WAY THE ONLY HOUSING COMPLEX WITH A HOT TUBS AND A computer LAB with movies to rent/watch and opened till midnight?!?!?! I am soo in love with the hot tub.. People use to say many negatives to me about going to the Hot tub at Vista Way such as getting pregnant, people doing some inappropriate things in there but it's really NOT true, there is nothing going on there but all friendly people trying to get to know more people. Sometimes you get crazy people there but I mean crazy as in crazy happy people. There are two hot tubs located on Vista way. one at the front pool by the bus stop, that one is questionable so if you want to be safe, go to the one in the back. The hot tub closes by midnight, if you are not out by then, the security will kick you back to your apartments. There is a pool and a gym right next to it, NOTHING IS going to happen to you so just sit back relax and enjoy the relaxing bubbles.. HOT TUBS ARE SOO meant for a busy days after work.
Another thing I really love about Vista Way is the Midnight computer labs with fast internet and a large screen TV for DVDs. This is also the only place YOU CAN BORROW movies and books, 2 can be taken out at once with your Disney ID. The clubhouse/front desk for chatham, patterson, commons all close at 5:00 so by the time I get off work, I cant borrow anything like vaccum or sports stuff or even use the computer lab to print hw. I hate how Vista and Chatham are soo far apart, getting there can be a pain, it's annoying if I just want to go over there to borrow a dvd or return dvds, hottub and internet that I actually game with.,, and then having to travel all the way back to Chatham.. If Only i lived at Vista, I mean ALL THE buses take their breaks there so if your working bus takes you home around their breaks hours, like mine, you'll have to wait till they are finished their break to go back to Chatham which is like another 10- 15 longer.. You can take another bus but its common for all the buses to be taking the same breaks at the same time. BUT, If i lived at Vista I would be home earlier like all those people who get off at VISTA, damnit!! Vista is like the bus base and the main base for everything. As much as I am loving stuff about Vista, I alway hear people at vista complaining about their apartments how stuff is so worn out and breaking. I would not like that for living.

Oh yes and I love ALL the active, friendly, nice people I've met at Vista.
Chatham oh Chatham, when will you become the complex that I had hoped for?
ahaha
HAVE A MAGICAL DAY GUYS !

Disney College Program Grocery Bingo!!!

BINGO board.. I am alway soo close to winning!!
FREE LAPTOP BAG if you're good at catching them

My goodies

So as a CP, you know that we have different events almost every week, ranging from pool parties (FREE FOOD) to cool beans cafe ( FREE COFFEE) to... other events but those are the ones i enjoy the most cuz you know... I am a food lover and which College student doesn't like FREE FOOD!
You also do not want to miss out these events because, not only do you get stuff out of them but the assessment fee that you pay before you even start the program ( 105 dollars) is paying for all those events, so if you dont go, you're money is going to waste. SO GO!!!
Now, let's get to the point, GROCERY BINGO has got to be the funniest event!! I love itttttttttttt, not only because you can get a chance to WIN 3 bags of goodies but it's fun and the people who host those events are good entertainers. I never get bored there... well maybe sometimes I get mad when I am sooo close to winning and they make us "clear our boards"
So here's how it works for those of you interested.
First rule!! Makes sure you arrive early, the first grocery bingo hosted at Vista was super packed, if they dont have room for you then sorry you will be able to participate, so try to arrive there earlyy, so you can stay on line with the rest of the free food craving people. I was there 3o minutes and the line was already warpped around the building, however, they try to stuff as many people in as possible.
Next, you will receive your bingo board upon entering, take a seat and get ready to SCREAM BINGO if you win!!
Dont worry if you haven't ever played bingo before, they will explain as well as show pictures to you. It's fun and easy!
You'll be able to play different types of bingo from: regular bingo, stinko bingo(the person who won this last time also got a free ipod shuffle), t bingo, + bingo, box bingo, etc ( i really have no idea what they are called so yea.. you get the point)
so yea.. the more people there playing with you, the less chance you get to win. Like the grocery bingo they had at the common, not many showed up, there were still seats available and guess who came home with bags of free stuff!!! =============>ME<==============lol
Here's another thing when there are too many bingo winners, they will make you have a dance off but they are always fun to watch but NOT to do.....!! lol

That's all i can think of now.. been so busy and tired HAVE A MAGICAL DAY!!

Bus? Cars? Florida MALL

Zara 8.00$
My favorite!!! H&M 35$
Hollister 16.00$
16.00$
Having no car here at Florida with the Disney College Program is livable! You'll just have to make sure to either room with a person with a car or make friends with people with cars ONLY. JK xD
You always have the bus service here that takes you to work, disney parks, walmart, walgreen, publix, etc. You can request a time for the bus to come as well, like if you have an early shift and you need a bus, they will come for you. Getting use to the bus system is another thing, you should remember which bus you take to work or that takes you back to your place, OR you can be like myself and carry the bus transportation paper with you everywhere. It cant get better than that, you also have to remember to bring your ID, without ID, you are out!! Arriving early before a bus schedule time is also useful, there are nice bus drivers that will stop for you if you're running late but most of the time, just try to be on time. The bus will usually be there on time and they will even wait for the perfect time to leave. I love meeting bus drivers with attitude.. we pay for this service and they treat us like they are giving us free rides.. which is kind of true. Good news? you can always contact a number to report them as long as you have their name and bus number.

Now, you also get special bus rides to special places like that Tradition bus you had on your second day. You also have a Florida Mall bus that takes you toooooooooo the Florida Mall. It comes once every week and rotates between days of the month so dont worry about not being able to have those days off for that month, shifts will change usually every month. You also have bus that take you to an "Asian Market" that you have to sign up for. I hear it's expensive, I have yet to sign up for it tho.

Lucky for me I had already gone to the Florida Mall twice! its the month of February so it's Tuesday Florida Mall day! I like it there, theres alot of shopping you can do there, however with your paycheck.. I'm not too sure you can shop as much as you wanted. SAVE YOUR MONEY FOR WALMART FOOD GUYS!!! but if you have the money, go right ahead and shop your lungs out! Theres almost every single store there. Much better than the outlet near the commons that has NOTHING really...
So I went with my 40 dollar paycheck last week to spend on some goodies that I couldn't help.

So yea now you know the benefits of Bus!! It's always better to have car, you can drive to target, costco, walmart, the mall yourself as well as work. so you dont have to wake up early just so you can catch that bus that take you to work an hour earlier. But either or, you can survive!

Disney College Program: Collegiate Courses!

The folder that you will receive. Front and back!

Before I had begun my Disney College experience I made sure that I would also get credit by taking some Collegiate Courses offered by Disney to help students stay on top of their school credits. So, I believe it works differently for each school and it depends on your school if they want to give you credits or not, most of the time they would allow it as electives so that's what I have saved up for. You could also speak to your Disney advisors or email Disney representatives. about the Collegiate Courses and see what they can do about it. Anyway, by taking two classes at disney around 4 hours for each class a week, I will be receiving 12 credits towards 4 of my electives. WOOHOO! The downfall? Well you only get two days off from work, so those two classes will be on those two days UNLESS you decide to sqeeze them into 1 day.. which isn't a bad idea since you can go ahead and sleep in the other day off (but most likey you might end up going to the parks!)

I am taking Human resources and Expeiential learning and all I can say is....... HAVING 2 class in 1 day is going to feel like a work day. BUT HEY I have the whole day off tomorrow!!! I also had like 2 hour break in between.. You dont have a choice in time btw... so I am in class every monday from 8:30 to 5:30( feels like longer than work!) These courses are offered in the class rooms like VistaWay, chatham, patterson, you dont get to choose, the classes can be all over the area (WHY COULDN"T THEY GIVE ME CHATHAM) ANYWAY... I actually found Experiential Learning more interesting than Human Resources, maybe because I have taken a human resource class before so it was boring for me. The professor for both classes had so much Disney in them, my experiential professor Debi is funny, she cracks jokes all the time. On the other hand, that class is suppose to be hard and a pain in the ass, the syllabus she spoke about didn't seem tooo bad. I dont think Anyone should have any trouble besides the timing and remembering when everything is due. Human resource can put me to sleep, there's too much going on and theres alot of talking in the clasee, trust.. If everyone would just let the teacher talk.. the class would end alot quicker. Joyce is a sweetheart, she's always smiling and kind.

Here are the other choices you have if you're going to get credit... If you're not I suggest you dont take these classes, take the funn ones that require you no textbooks or money that they deduct from your paycheck for the binder, paper, and some other things... I really think they like to steal our money as much as they can. Before you decide upon a class, take a look at their course syllabus because they list the required text and the course material charges so you might as well look at those when working for disney.

Advanced Studies in Hospitality Management

Corporate Analysis

Corporate Communication

Creativity & Innovation: Gaining the Edge

Experiential Learning

Marketing You: Personal and Career Development Strategies

Organizational Leadership

Experiential learning does not require a textbook, however you will have to pay 30 dollars that will deducted from your check.. that money goes to your binder and a chapter book that is assigned for you to read. Debi believes theres no need to buy a textbook.

Human Resource on the other hand wants you to buy the textbook that cost around 50- 60 dollars on amazon, but you can choose not to buy it.. just take alot of notes or make friends with people in the class that has the book.

Some of these like Marketing you is on a easier lvl that my professor didn't let me take because I am a senior but if you can I heard that Marketing you and HR is very easy.

Disney College Program Packing re-announced

I decided to remake a list in detail for people coming around the seasons of January.. things may range from when you're starting the program to how long you plan to stay. As for me, my program began around early January and ends May 19th. However, I might have plans to extend but as of right now. Heres what I feel most important about packing. Oh yeaaa, also keep in mind that I may choose my items differently from people who will be driving there. I have limited amount of space only!
I also want to go over things that I did not happen to need.

Going back to my old list as posted earlier. I still do recommend packing in advance, repacking, packing and repacking. That may not make sense but that's what I did. First I dumped everything I wanted to bring with me in a corner.. then slowly I started to arrange them as my pile got bigger. The hardest part will be arranging them into the big luggage but take your time to weigh it and look through everything again. DONT WORRY I went through my luggages many times!!!

First and most importantly.. BRING YOUR LAPTOP!!! and charger (even though the internet sucks here!
You also should bring a modem. OR put in money together with the amount of roommates you have to purchase one... Because If you do not have one~ You will NOT HAVE WIRELESS!! yea.. that's mee being trapped infront of the desk outside and connected by wire. ( this works too! if you only have 1 roommate like myself, we just sit by the desk together) Either way.. You wont be on the internet MUCH.. But you will need it.~! for school work, the HUB, FACEBOOK!!!
-Phone/charger - Obvious one but I forgot my charger on the way to the car ( luckily my sister reminded me)
-Camera, charger, usb blah blah.. I cant LIVE WITHOUT MY CAMERA!!
- Skin care, lotion (face, feet, body)
- Nail products (polish/filers/clipper)
- Beach towel - For the beach that I have no access to because I have no car and the buses dont take you everywhere.
- Bathing suits - Yay pool parties and free pizza
- Professional attire (pants, shirts) - You will need to wear them for your traditions, and if you're taking classes at Disney like myself. You are also required to wear them for training days so just be prepared
- Warm clothes for January/February - I did not bring enough! Bring hoodies! jeans. It's usually cold in the mornings and at late night
- Socks ( full black and whites ones ) - At old key west. We were required to wear white shoes but you can find them at walmart for cheap.. ( it feels like they know we will need them!!) Some places require you to wear the same color socks as your shoes, however I am free to wear whatver color I wanted.
- Slippers for the house - YES YOU NEED SLIPPERS FOR YOUR Apartment unless you want to step on the first carpets that no one wants to vaccum cuz the front desk closes so early and no one want to carry it to the 2nd floor.....
- Professional dress shoes - BRING FLATS. comfy shoes. I also have a heel with me that I plan to wear to class
- Sandals - for convenience!!
- Comfortable shoes (sneakers, flats) Bring some sneakers if you plan to jog or work out in the gym!
- Bring 1 full set of Dishes ( fork, knife, spoon, bowl and cup)= I bought my own set of bowl and cups. The ones in my apartment was in ok condition.. i ended up boiling some of them and using it. Always good to sanitize!
- 1 roll of toliet paper - No need you will probably have fun to go to walmart after the whole meeting.
- little Toothpaste, tooth brush ( for the first few nights)
- shower curtains ( or buy them there)
- Towel ( bath, face, hand)
- Bring some extra towels for your kitchen, bathroom to clean and wipe.
- Blanket,pillows linens, sheets
- Medicines
- health insurance information
- Writing utensils ( papers, envelops, folders, staplers, pencil, pens, highlighters)
- master lock
- laundry bag and basket
- Personal information
- hair clips, pins, rubberbands, combs, etc
- Hair dryer!! I highly recommend for girls.. especially when you dont want to wait for your hair to dry and you have work tomorrow!!

OVERALL I FEEL that EVERYONE SHOULD MAKE ROOM FOR CLOTHING.. that's one thing I do regret not bringing enough of.. You really dont have time to go shopping and even if you wanted to. The shopping mall bus comes once a week and you might not even have that day off from work.

Many items can be bought at Walmart. HOWEVER, carrying the items back to your place is the problem. You want to leave the space to carry food. YES STOCK Up on food with you get to walmart because Florida makes you eat.

Heres my advice CLOTHES, SHOES, ANYTHING YOU CANT FIND AT WALMART! Everything else you might consider just shopping out at walmart or walgreens or Publix.
GOOD NIGHT and Have a magical DAY

Disney College Program Magic Kingdom Fun

We all know that one of the best things about being a Disney Cast member or College Program student is being able to go into all the Disney parks for free!! That includes:
Magic Kingdom
Epcot
Animal Kingdom
Hollywood Studios
All you have to do is get your White Disney ID on the day of your traditions! Slide the card in with the scan of your finger and that's it!
I must say that to explore all these 4 areas WILL TAKE A LONG TIME!! because I try to take advantage of it and TRY EVERY SINGLE RIDE! Sometimes the lines can be ridiculously long... however that's where fastpass come in play! yay! CPs also get FASTPASS!!!

Florida Weather and my clothes!

Okay so here I am being random and bored.
This should really depend on when you're going to be down at florida
Since I arrived on January 17th and my program ends on May... So far it's BEEN COLD, CHILLLY and RAINY! Florida weather is crazyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy. Sometimes it's soooooo hot but other times i'm so cold!

They say it will be getting warmer around February but I also heard that that it will be starting to get hot after February... I am awaiting my warm days since I really want to start tanning and going into the pool

I bought 2 jeans, 1 sweat and ALOT of shorts!! Tanks and short sleeves and now i am running out of warm clothes to wear! I should have bought more warm clothes. Eventho I have access to the Florida Mall and the commons outlet.. I never have time to go to that mall because it comes once a week and I am usually working around that time. The outlet is very close but its a very weird outlet.. sucks!!

Sure you have the choice of also shopping at walgreens and walmart for clothes but who wants to wear those LOL Jk! i just feel like i want my whole closet here! - flies back to NY-

One thing i should have brought more of is definitely work out clothes for the gym. Florida makes me eat alot...... I am constantly hungry especially after a long day of work.

Vista vs Chatham vs Patterson!

Cherry on the left, stealing my shades and yours truly on the right

For those of you confused about which complex to choose.. I hope I can help out!
It really depends on you. I am currently living at Chatham, 1 bedroom (Cherry and I) I was kind of deciding on Chatham or Patterson because I wanted to live in the newer complex. I finally made my choice of Chatham because of total laziness, Chatham has a bus stop and Patterson people have to walk to Chatham to get a bus.......... HOWEVER it's not far at all!! Unlike Vista. Chatham, The Commons, and Patterson are all pretty close together. So the other day I went to visit the 2 year old Patterson and I was sooooooo in LOVE. It's realllllllly a beauty, the pool, the surrounding areas, It was like a resort.. there was more light than Chatham and actually people hanging around the pool area and the water was cleannnnnn like really cleannnnnnn. So now I am regretting.. for a dollar more I would have picked Patterson! Might I also add that I actually felt the Air conditioner at Patterson.. The AC and heat in my room is kind of weird and is old..so yea.. not the mention the smell of the carpets. You can definitely see the newness of Patterson but Chatham is also NICE I guess but it's only a dollar for Patterson!!!
Let me explain alittle bit about each
Vista Way was the first built complex for the Disney College Program. It is also where you will be checking in. Most of the main events take place at Vista! If you like to party, Vista is the way for you! They call it Vista Lay... DDONT ASK ME WHY!!! I just hearddd( am innocent, no idea what that means) Vista is old tho, the rooms look worn out and with all the party going on I'm not sure the apartments can look very good. They have a party every night, the POOL IS always active, even in the freezing cold weathers around January. Vista is also the cheapest of all three complex, however you can not choose a 1 bedroom. The rent is around 80- 90$ per week deducted from your paycheck! ( poor check= no more money after taxes)
Chatham Square is second cheapest of them all. It's known for being second active with parties.. However, I feel like Chatham is more quiet than Patterson. Chatham is cool tho because most people live here and all the cool people are here (like myself!) Anyway, the rent is ranged from 85- 95, 95 being the 1 and 2 bedroom. I do not like the smell of my carpets!! The pool is nice but... it's so far to the end of the area, making it look kind of spooky and abandoned.
The Commons are for international students who stay here for a year and work at epcot! You can not choose this but there rent is the most expensive out of all of the rest. I have yet to see the apartments, the pool and the gym looks nice tho
Patterson Court is truly a beauty, feels like some resort, the trees and grass there even look extra nice! Remember they are only 1 dollar more than Chatham, ranging from the price of 86- 96$ 96 being the 1 bed and 2 bedroom. I felt more safe with the areas of Patterson, the lighting is more bright and it feels like a friendly environment.......

hmmmmmm That's all my thoughts now.. will try to add more if possible.

Disney College Program TRADITIONS!

On your left you have your program guide you receive on your first day of check in. Keep this book, it'll be like your bible!! on your right is a picture of your completion of 1 training class!
This is the card you use to enter all the Disney Parks. You will also be recieving this on tradition day andddddddd when you first enter the parks, make sure you have one of you fingers ready. They will use your finger to scan you in with the card.

When in training you must wear the red, once you're done you're free to take it off ( but becareful! once it's off you have no more reason to make mistakes!)

Without the red tag

It's a bit late to be talking about traditions but I will do my best to remember!
Before attending traditions I was very worry about being late or dressing inappropriate but traditions was really not that bad. Here are the two things I had worried the most about: Not professional enough, Not waking up on time. Now, if you do not know what Tradition day is.....well....... let me explain. They give you a tradition date and time on the day you go to casting, if you're lucky like myself, you get to the early shift of 6:45 AM and I mean if you do not catch the bus on time THE BUS WILL LEAVE YOU SO DO NOT BE LATE!!!! hence the reason I was worried about being late..!!
The other time is 12:45 PM which they will decide for you the day of casting.

sooo back to traditions, it's a day to learn more about Disney like history, about the company, culture, the safety, andddddd you get a tour of the magic kingdom (back of the house) Basically, the most important part about going to Disney traditions is basically so you can get your Disney ID pass so you can enter Disney for freeeeee and Your name tag that you will be wearing everyday of work.

Welcome abroad NEW DISNEY CAST MEMBERS!!! (talking to myself ahahah)
So yea, I thought Disney traditions would be very strict about dress code but they didn't really look unless you were wearing jeans etc.. you really dont need to dress too professional but it's ok professional is always good and wear your comfy shoes because you will be walking but only for a short while. Warning: alot of stuff you learn at traditions will be repeated throughout your whole disney adventure but other than that it's very not TOO bad, you will end around 12:30 PM? but hey, you're getting paid or so i've heard. I haven't gotten my check yet so I am dead broke here!! as of right now!!

Dont know what I am missing but yea I think that's it
HAVE A MAGICAL DAY!

Paying rent along with free Internet but limited!!

Today is the 2nd day of my adventures here with the Disney College Program. Not much work or complaints as of right now since today was my day off. I did a little exploration around Chatham where I live, went to the outlet that didn't look to appealing to me, went to walmart again with my 1 of my luggage to carry some water (I need a friend with a car) and then went off to hang out with a friend of mine that is also from my school, having dinner at UNO for the first time!
Everything so far is running smoothly
Anyway, If you live in a 1 bedroom for Chatham square you will be paying 95$ a week which would include......... Internet, 24/7 security, furniture, some equipment and maintenance ... However, I am not happy with the internet blocking my games!! i cant play my games!! I have to say goodbye to FIESTA ONLINE NOW!! You also have to buy a router if you want to have internet in your bedroom.... so um yeaaa If you want to be able to play games and such you must pay for your own additional internet!!! charged at the end of each month.

Good bye me lovee gabby x3333

Anyway, traditions tomorrow! GOOD NIGHT!!!

Disney College Program Day 1 of Arrival! Check in Process!

On January 17th of 2011 of the day of check ins at Orlando Florida!
Oh lucky me how it was raining so much on the first day of my adventures with getting to know and learn more about the Disney College Program... I dont know if they changed things around because of the weather, however the process that I have read that would take place did not really happen the way I had read/ heard about. I'm going to update you and hope that this would help people along their journey. I decided to arrive around the time of 7:00 AM, knowing that my goal was the be one of the first persons there to be done with, also because I had planned for my 1 bedroom that would be quite rare, or so i've heard... Anyway, I got there around 6:50, mann was i surprised the first ones there. There was already a group of 3 there and we had begun to discuss stuff and learn about each other. Closer to the approaching time of 8:00 was when people started to show up and we had begun to form a line, being one of the 4th person online, I knew i was definitely getting the room I had desired, which was Chatham! Almost PERFECT I TOLD MYSELF!! When they told us to start walking down to the tent that was set up for us and that people with luggages had to leave them with another tent.. It's a good thing to think about our luggages Disney but the people who were waiting from 6ish had lost their place in line, the people without luggages were allowed to start right away. (just a heads up maybe it would turn out like this for some of you as well)

After getting your names written down, we were handed out booklets and forming a line again to wait for people to bring us to groups in a circle table and explain some interesting facts i wont spoil for you
After that we were sent to pick out our desired rooms(YUSH I STILL DID IT) and take our Housing IDs that came out horrible if you already have a big head like mee. FINALLY THEY TAPE THE KEYS INSIDE YOUR IMPORTANT BOOK THAT THEY CALL THE BIBLE!!!
Now.. Right after that's done with, they send you off to the bus as they wait for the bus to board more people! You're OFF TO CASTING where you're going to go through all the paper work, on boarding papers, w4, where you'll be working as and fingerprinting.. background checks... etc!!

After a long circle of meeting all the friendly people and smiling all day to them, you finally get a snack to eat and then you return to your bus back to your luggages!!

Here they have buses that helps you with your luggages to your housing! YAy we get to see our ROOM!! finally 8207 was my room. 8 is the building number, and 2 is the floor so look for your building number before your floor number and then everything else should be a breeze!

Besides all that luggage that killed my names i was finally able to drop it off at my room that had a scent of funny smell when i had opened the door but after a while i was able to go to open the window and let some air in.

IT"S NOT OVER YET!!
in 2:45 you have another meeting at the commons about rules and regulations for the building about security and many more of that things that can get you kicked off disney properties.
Anyway, EVEN tho I was dead tired, i ended up going to walmart and grabbing some food and needed supples! i really need to meet a friend down here with a car cuz i thought that was the end of my luggages but i ended up with more grogery so now my hand is sore and tomorrow it will be in pain T__T

I ended my day with this blog that i am half a wake writing, I ate but i still feel hungry!
Good nighty guys! and have a MAGICAL DAY!!!!

Today is the day !!! Good bye New York!!!

The day has finally come!
My flight is at 9:00 PM so I should be arriving around 12ish and leaving around 7:00 ( Going to be there a day earlier like I have planned so I hope to get my desire type of housing)
This week has been none stop eating out with friends, relatives and family. The one main thing i will miss in New York has got to be the food!
Oh and of course packing and repacking is also a hard part especially when you're traveling by plane like myself... limited to 50 pounds and a carry-on. I was soooo depressed when I found out I couldn't bring a few things... ( my pandaaaaa, Thanks josh )you know my packing list? I shall update on what I finally ended up with.
I dont know if it's just me but this whole week I've been wondering if I have made the right choice, Is Disney what I really want to experience, what if this isn't as awesome as I thought it would be but either way i have already waited this long and the day has finally come.. no turning back!!
Disney Here I Come!!!
Good bye Family, Friends, Games.. NEW YORK!
